Project Initiation
Starting a project off on the right foot is the single most important step in good project management and if done properly, will significantly improve the chance of project success. We can assist you with the project initiation phase including scope definition, stakeholder identification and engagement, risk assessment, project planning, communication planning and resource/cost planning and monitoring.
Project Assurance
We conduct healthchecks for projects that are failing to deliver, identifying reasons for failure, making achievable recommendations and action plans that your organisation can take forward. Our healthchecks incorporate all elements of the project including technology, process, people and governance however can be tailored to meet your specific needs. We can also assist your organisation implement a standard project review process to enable you to monitor your project portfolio on an ongoing basis.
Welsh Assembly Government – ERDMS
Between 2008 and 2011, WAG appointed Q3 to deliver multiple phases of an ERDMS (Electronic Records and Document Management System) implementation, to a total of 6500 users. Q3 was responsible for Project Management, Business Process Improvement, Project Office and Solution workstreams. During this successful project, Q3 designed and managed a number of major technical implementation phases, managed performance testing sub-projects, ran a procurement exercise to purchase the services of a new training provider and re-engineered and integrated existing business processes. Q3 delivered a 3 million pound saving for the Welsh Assembly Government over the 3 years.
Siemens - Programme Office
During 2008, Siemens appointed Q3 to create and manage a Programme Office for a large cost recovery programme within one of it's UK operating companies. The programme incorporated multiple workstreams including organisational restructuring, overhead cost reduction and sector specific business development. The Q3 Programme Office reported savings to the UK Board of Directors of over £2.5m over a 10 month period and subsequently transitioned the function to Siemens business-as-usual.
National Australia Group
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank appointed Q3 to design and implement a Business Internet Banking solution to replace it's existing offering and integrate with it's line of business applications. This included running the procurement and vendor selection of a multi-million pound contract to enable Multi Factor Authentication, designing the look and feel including the registration process, Multi Funds Transfer, Transaction History, Integration and Security. Working alongside the business and technology specialists available within the bank, and using IBM consultants, Q3 was responsible for producing the Solution Architecture Design for submission to the bank’s Solution Design Authority.
Welsh Assembly Government – Internet
During 2008, the Welsh Assembly Government appointed Q3 to implement a technical refresh on it's Internet site. Q3 ran a procurement and vendor selection exercise, in order to select a suitable Managed Service provider. The solution was integrated into WAG’s complex infrastructure successfully and included features such as multi-site geographical resilience, thin client deployment over Citrix to web editors and SSL implementation for consultative forums. The project was successfully delivered to time, cost, quality and scope.
